The Director of Technical Training is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing all training school activities. The role requires a strong understanding of maintenance and logistics training concepts, requirements, and doctrine at an Army level. The position also involves developing, overseeing, and executing Annual Training Plans (ATPs) while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise faculty in conducting training needs analysis and the annual training review.

  • Ensure training school compliance with project contracts and directives provided by relevant authorities.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of new or revised training school policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Recommend and implement courseware delivery enhancements and training school redesign initiatives.

  • Oversee the development and execution of a curriculum to support the Professional Military Education (PME) program.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and established quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Plan, prepare, review, and execute the ATP in accordance with project requirements.

  • Maintain quality work in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

  • Develop and oversee performance metrics to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded.

  • Manage the annual budget of the training school.

  • Implement and oversee training strategies, including ATP, approved curriculum, Mobile Training Team (MTT) programs, courseware delivery capabilities, and school redesign initiatives.

  • Control and continuously improve the learning management system.

  • Advise senior management on the latest technical approaches to training.

  • Develop and manage the technical apprentice program.

  • Conduct training needs analysis and annually assess training effectiveness across all functional areas.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all company documents.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in the same field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 10-12 years of managerial experience (manager, dean, leader, etc.), preferably in a military environment.

    • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Director/Dean of a training institution is an advantage.

  • Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

    • Experience applying the Systems Approach to Training (SAT).

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Experience in developing training, education, and leadership programs in compliance with ISO 10015 guidelines.

    • Knowledge of professional military education systems, evaluation programs, distributed learning technologies, and mobile training teams.

    • Leadership and analytical expertise.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

  • Other Requirements:

    • Must have or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license.
