Job Summary: As an Automotive Parts Inventory Control Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the inventory of automotive parts, ensuring accuracy, organizing stock, and facilitating the distribution of parts as needed. Your role involves maintaining records, performing inventory audits, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams to optimize inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of automotive parts, ensuring proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing parts. Use inventory management software or systems to track stock levels and replenishment needs.
Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments of automotive parts, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages or discrepancies. Resolve issues with suppliers or vendors regarding incorrect or damaged parts.
Stock Organization: Organize and arrange automotive parts within the inventory storage area for easy access and efficient retrieval. Utilize appropriate labeling and categorization methods to streamline inventory management.
Order Fulfillment: Process requests for parts from internal departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the required items. Collaborate with the purchasing department to replenish stock as needed.
Inventory Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical inventory with database records. Generate inventory reports detailing stock levels, discrepancies, and recommendations for improving inventory control processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as, service, and purchasing to understand inventory needs, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels to meet business requirements.
Quality Control: Maintain the quality standards of automotive parts, ensuring that all items meet specified requirements and safety standards.
Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies regarding inventory handling, storage, and disposal of automotive parts.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
5years of experience in inventory control, preferably in an automotive parts environment.
Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording inventory data.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Knowledge of automotive parts and their identification is beneficial.
